Constance Davis is neither a celebrity nor a well known figure, but her collected personal papers offer an exceptional insight into the life of a 'normal person'.
Her archive is a collection of letters, holiday snaps, birthday cards and so on. It is perhaps no more or less a collection of various materials that many of us keep throughout our lives. Creating an archive is not an alien experience separated from us, far from it. We are constantly creating and managing our own archive everytime we have a 'sort out' of old christmas cards and organise photo albums.
This archive is an excellent example of a simple way to create our own archive and what we and others can learn from it.
To discover more about Constance's archive click on the images. And to find out how we at Connecting Histories pieced together this information click in the middle on 'Constructing Histories'. |
